Training organization
Since December 12, 2022, SARL SEPAB has been registered as a training organization with the DREETS under activity number 76 34 11971 34. This registration does not imply government approval.
The improvement of pedagogical, technical and organizational practices is an objective for SEPAB.
SARL SEPAB offers various training courses around the “One welfare” principle. These trainings have been built according to the principle of interdependence of animal welfare and human welfare as a source of job satisfaction, motivation lever and skill development for each operator involved in the process of exporting animals by sea.

1. Animal welfare during sea transport
This training allows the personnel in charge of monitoring the animals throughout their sea crossing to understand the principles of cattle welfare, ranging from fundamentals to evaluation at sea with a view to advice, including an overview of the various welfare indicators and evaluation methods specific to sea transport.
Objective of the training:
- Ability to supervise and accompany the crew on feeding, watering and mulching operations.
- Be able to ensure traceability of all operations and records made during the trip.
- Being able to handle animals safely
- Master measures to assess the welfare and methods of assessing animal welfare during sea crossings.
Audience: All audiences
Prerequisites: English level A2 and BAC +2 in agriculture / agronomy / animal production / analysis, management and strategy of the agricultural business or experience of at least one year in production and / or care of animals and / or handling of animals.
Duration: 4 hours
Number of trainees: 1 to 10 per session
Face-to-face training: in our premises at the commercial port – voie de la Lozère, 34200 SETE
Access time: Training accessible within 10 days

2. Animal welfare and handling
This training is aimed at anyone who has to handle cattle, sheep and goats: dockers, mountain dogs of allotment center … It aims to have animal handling practices evaluated with the dual objective of improving the safety of each operator and the welfare of the animals. This training does not replace regulatory training on the protection of animals during transport or at the slaughterhouse.
Objective of the training:
- Be able to cite key points in regulations concerning the transport and handling of animals
- Know the fundamentals of animal handling
- Being able to define animal welfare
- Mastering welfare assessment measures and methods of assessing animal welfare
Audience: Anyone involved in handling animals
Prerequisites: None
Duration: 4 hours
Number of trainees: 5 to 20 per session
Location: Meeting room of the office Operations PORT SUD DE France – Port de commerce – SETE (34200)
Access time: Training accessible within 15 days
Price per session: €1,600 excl. VAT (VAT 20%)

3. Handling and welfare of animals on board ships
This training is aimed at seafarers on board vessels carrying animals. It offers a new approach to animal welfare during sea voyages. It also offers a digital management system for animal welfare during sea crossings.
Objective of the training:
- Be able to cite key points in regulations concerning the transport and handling of animals
- Know the fundamentals of animal handling
- Being able to define animal welfare
- Be able to carry out the “welfare monitoring” of the animals during the crossing
Audience: Any person required to handle animals on vessels
Prerequisites: None
Duration: 4 hours
Number of trainees: 5 to 15 per session
Face-to-face: training at the applicant’s premises at the Commercial Port – 34200 SETE
Access time: Training accessible within 10 days
